Technically, the western beach is the original Gibney family beach and the eastern portion in front of the pavilion Oppenheimer (sold to him by the Gibneys decades ago). During the summer months it is harder to find a shady spot. Unfortunately, our experience with the cottages was marred by a few problems and the gross ambivalence of Terri Gibney. We made the mistake of renting directly through Terri, and while she is known for her “personality”, it was UNNERVING to travel with five adults, two kids to the cottages when she didn’t answer any phone calls, messages ...While Gibney beach is public, very few visit because there’s basically no parking.
